More Than a Great Cause: Warriors Helping Warriors

Nassau County Fire Fighters Operation Wounded Warrior Project

Warrior Firefighters from Nassau County on Long Island have dedicated themselves to helping the men and woman of the US Military by providing support through care packages and trips to visit soldiers here in the US. Each year these volunteers road trip to Walter Reed Army and Bethesda Naval Hospitals in Washington, DC, US Army Post FT Bragg and MCB Camp Lejeune, NC, host fund raisers and welcome home soldiers who have been wounded while serving our country.

Dean Chynoweth Named Isles Assistant Head Coach

The Islanders have named Dean Chynoweth assistant coach of the Islanders, according to their website and www.islanderspointblank.com. Chynoweth was a former first round pick of Bill Torrey in 1987, whose career ended quickly because of injuries, and who had previously been GM and head coach of Swift Current in the WHL. He also played for three years with the Boston Bruins.
